We are an ideal touring centre for Durham, Corbridge, Gateshead, Newcastle and Beamish Museum, we are also close to the C2C Cycle route. The area abounds in beautiful walks in the North Pennines, sailing, canoeing and bird watching on the Derwent Reservoir. We are a smallholding of about 15 acres with a cottage garden. We keep Ponies, Goats, Geese, Ducks and Chickens, as well as Cats and we breed Border Collie Dogs. Our old farmhouse is 600 years old and is the oldest dwelling house in North West Durham. Wharnley Burn was once the home of a local Highwayman in the 17th Century by the name of Thomas Raw.
