In Galway City centre The Herons Rest boutique Bed and Breakfast lies nestled on the banks of the river Corrib over looking the traditional Claddagh harbour. This idyllic waterside location is only 3 mins from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town and the ‘craic’ of Galway’s Latin Quarter. Each cosy chic ensuite bedroom has stunning views overlooking the Claddagh Harbour and the famous Galway Bay. Outside the water is teaming with wildlife such as, otters, herons and the largest colony of mute swans in Western Europe. Traditional sailing boats named ‘Galway Hookers’ can be watched setting sail from your bedroom window and our binoculars enhance the view that stretches across to the Burren Hills. Every morning the smell of the fresh bake will greet you as you rise,breakfast is a gourmet delight with 8 hot dishes to choose from, provisioned from local and organic food. We call it ‘keeping it country in the city’.

Breakfast: Brekafast is a feast each morning at The Herons Rest Boutique B&B. INdeed we have been awarded best breakfast in Ireland by the discerning independent guide Georgina Campbell's Ireland. We bake fresh sweet muffins and savoury wholemeal scones each morning and serve fresh local fruits with our home made muesli and natural Yogurt. Following this a choice of one of 8 hot gourmet dishes awaits you, such as French toasted Brioche with melted rhubarb or honey baked ham with farm fresh eggs and a grilled tomato. From your comfortable orthopaedic bed you can view the traditional Claddagh Harbour and it's fishermen setting sail. Parking: on street parking is available for €7 overnight or secure off street parking for €10 overnight.

Families: We enjoy welcoming families, although are not suitable for the younger children under 3 yrs of age. It is the perfect location to bring your older children and we have a combination of rooms to facilitate, such as 2 single rooms and 2 double rooms which also hold a single bed. There are plenty of activites in the nera vicinity suitable for families such as kayaking on the river, sailing, city touring, hill walking and fishing.

Disabled Facilities: All our rooms are at least one floor above ground level so unfortunately we are not suitable for people with mobility issues.
