It was built in the grounds of Fernley lodge in 1875 for a tea planter and his family returning from India and used to house the horses and cart. Manorbier lies within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park making it an excellent destination for a wide range of people from families and surfers to walkers and those who just want to relax amidst spectacular nature. Manorbier boasts a truly magical 12th century medieval castle described by Gerald of Wales who was born in the castle as "the fairest place in all of Wales". It has recently been voted "one of the most romantic places in Wales" according to National Geographic who also voted Pembrokeshire as number two coastle destination in the world, November 2010.
