Longueville House Hotel, a 17th-century, 20-bedroom Irish country house hotel steeped in history and character, offering a very warm welcome, with open log fires, comfortable bedrooms with modern bathrooms. It’s a place of history, yet Longueville has moved with the times. Maintaining and modernising the house has been a labour of love for third-generation owners William O’Callaghan and his wife Aisling, your hosts. Located four miles from Mallow, on the Cork to Dublin Railway line, Longueville is easily accessible from Cork, Limerick and Killarney. Longueville House feels like home. Beautifully maintained over many years and generously proportioned, it’s sumptuous, inviting and lived-in. With family art on the walls, window boxes stocked with flowers grown on the grounds, open log fires and modern bathrooms with fluffy cotton towels and good-pressure hot water, every comfort is assured. Whether you’re getting away from it all, taking a romantic weekend, rekindling memories or reigniting old flames, you’ll find a warm welcome at Longueville. It is the perfect combination - a place to enjoy nature by day, then dress for gourmet dinner by night. The atmosphere of Longueville is able to content the sophisticated patron while at the same time being endearingly rural. Chef/ Patron William O’Callaghan Longueville House is your ideal base for long walks, world-class golf and fine food. Your meals will be created by William, our chef and patron, who trained under Raymond Blanc (Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons). His priceless experience is allied to a firm belief in same-day freshness. That’s why your vegetables, fruit and herbs come straight from our two-acre walled garden and your lamb and salmon come direct from the Longueville farm and the Blackwater River that runs through the estate. Beyond the farm, on our 500-acre wooded estate and gardens, you’ll spot duck, pheasant and hens, maybe even rare native red squirrels, badgers and songbirds. Hunting and fishing for guests are on site. In winter, it’s driven duck and pheasant; in summer, fish for wild river salmon and brown trout on the Blackwater River. When the leaves fall, you can hunt mushrooms on the 500-acre wooded grounds. After a day’s hike or fly-fishing the Blackwater River, Mother Nature gives way to a sophisticated, warm atmosphere in which exquisite dining takes centre stage. Returning to Longueville feels like coming home. Beyond Longueville, the Blackwater Way, the Nagle Mountains and the Boggeraghs await discovery - on foot or bike. Enjoy our mid-summer concerts, winter game dinners and Christmas luncheon parties. Stay a week or just one night, in numbers up to 40 guests. You’ll find us just outside Mallow, where a welcome awaits, as warm as our log fires.
