Accommodation on offer is two non smoking ensuite double rooms complete with Freeview TV radio alarm clocks tea / coffee making facilities and WiFi coverage. As the pictures show the house has a mature country garden with various seating areas where you can relax and take in the tranquil surroundings. In the summer weather permitting breakfast can be served on the Patio. Guests also have use of a fridge with a cold water dispenser and their own conservatory/lounge with access to games magazines items of local interest and a CD player. br / br / For places to eat there are a number of traditional country pubs nearby serving excellent food. Your hosts will be only to happy to advise and if you wish book a table for you. However if guests wish to eat in with a takeaway meal our Breakfast Room facility is available. br / br / br / br / The house itself is centrally located in the village of Bowerchalke at the upper end of the picturesque Chalke Valley which is part of the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Although it is only a small village it has some notable attributes in that it has been home to Nobel Prize winning author William Golding Gaia Theorist Prof James Lovelock and Poet Siegfried Sassoon. William Golding is also buried in the village churchyard. From 1878 to 1924 the village had its own newspaper the cheapest ever printed in England as it sold for a farthing and was published locally by the Rev Edward Collett. br / br / br / br / The Doomsday Book refers to this area as the Manor of Chelke and it was not until 1225 that the name Burchelke first appeared. Prior to the Roman occupation of Britain this area was inhabited by a tribe called the Durotriges and legend has it that the Bowerchalke hamlet of Woodminton was the site of a battle between them and a Roman legion circa AD43. The battle was fought at a place called Patty s Bottom and legend has it on certain moonlight nights tramping is distinctly heard and headless horses can be seen. br / br / br / br / Latest check-in time is 21:00

Salisbury - Bus: By Bus:- Access by Public Transport can be by National Bus Service to Salisbury then by the Wilts & Dorset Bus Service Number 29 to Bowerchalke. The Bus Stop is alongside the entrance to Greenbank Bed & Breakfast. There is no Sunday Service and the service operates between 07.35hrs and 18.20hrs Monday to Saturday. Frequency of buses varies throughout the day. As there is no Bus Service on Sundays there are Taxi Ranks located in the Town Centre and the Railway Station br/ br/ Salisbury - Train: By Train:- From Salisbury Railway Station head for the Town Centre where the Wilts & Dorset Bus Station is located. Access is then by the Wilts & Dorset Bus Service Number 29 to Bowerchalke. The Bus Stop is alongside the entrance to Greenbank Bed & Breakfast. As there is no Bus Service on Sundays you can get a Taxi at the station. br/ br/ Salisbury - Road: By Road:- When coming from Salisbury on the A354 travel to Coombe Bissett turn right here & head for Broadchalke from here follow signs leading to Bowerchalke and head for the centre of the village where you will find Greenbank located 50 metres east of the Church on the north side of Church Street.
