The Hal o the Wynd is a large white painted three storey building dating back some three hundred plus years and has a lot of historical interest. The building is located opposite the ferry terminal and across the road from the vehicle entrance and exit of the terminal on Newton Street Stornoway. br / br / br / br / Newton Street was once known as Captains Row and is mentioned in the book - A shilling for your scowl - the history of a Scottish legal mafia by James Shaw Grant. br / br / br / br / The house has three large ensuite and two large standard bedrooms. All rooms have a sea view and panoramic views of Lews Castle grounds and beyond to Arnish point. It also has a well laid out dining room. All rooms are centrally heated with individual thermostatic control and also have colour text televisions tea and coffee making facilities. br / br / br / br / The town centre is just a few minutes walk where you will find the bus station - which boasts an excellent service to all major attractions on the island.
