Ye Olde George Inn is a cosy traditional country pub run by a friendly team serving fine wines and award winning cask real ales. Our food is of a high quality prepared by chefs with a real passion for local and free-range ingredients. The menu changes regularly to serve fresh seasonal produce. We offer Al fresco dining throughout the summer months and open log fires in the winter. Private functions are also welcome. br / br / br / br / Ye Olde George Inn dates back to the 15th century and boasts loads of original character and charm. The pub is set in one of England s finest historic villages only a stones throw from the South Down s Way making this an ideal location for walkers and hikers alike. The pub has five en-suite bedrooms available consisting of two doubles a superior double and two twin rooms. Our superior room is large enough to be sold as a triple or family room. br / br / br / br / Please note we close in the afternoons. We open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 3pm and then again from 6pm -11pm. We open on Sundays from 11am until 10pm. Check in is either before 3pm or after 6pm. Check-in is not available between these hours. br / br / br / br / East meon itself has a number of local attractions. All Saint s church holds an original Norman font one of only seven still in existance in England. It also holds a beautiful tapestry commemorating the millenium. Meon Springs fisheries is only a little distance away offering a wealth of activities. The Sustainability Centre is approximately a mile up the road situated on the old H.M.S Mercury site offering the natural burial site. Queen Elizabeth Country Park is a few miles away offering over twenty miles of trails ideal for walkers cyclists and horse riders. br / br / br / br / The nearest towns to East Meon are the historic market towns of Petersfield and Winchester each hosting regular farmers markets. Alternatively the A3 takes you to Portsmouth in just about twenty minutes where you could enjoy the historic dockyard Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker tower.

The A3 - Road: Whether you are travelling North or Southbound on the A3 depart at Petersfield round-about (landmarks include BP garage McDonald s and a PremierInn). Take the A272 signposted Winchester. After approx 1 mile the road bends to the right. Take the left road signposted Langrish. (The pub is also signposted) Follow the lanes for 2-3 miles. You will enter East Meon. All Saint s church is directly on your right turn directly left into the village and we are on the right after 100 metres. br/ br/ Petersfield - Train: The nearest train station is Petersfield. This is served by South West trains and is on the main line from London Waterloo to Portsmouth. A taxi rank is situated just outside the station. br/ br/ Petersfield - Coach: The nearest coach stop is on Dragon Street in Petersfield and is served by National Express on the main road from London Victoria to Portsmouth and Southampton. If you walk through town and head towards the train station a taxi rank is situated outside. br/ br/ Portsmouth - Boat: The main car ferry port is Portmouth (served by LD Lines P&O and also Brittany ferries to name a few). When leaving the port drive North on the A3 towards Petersfield. After about 18 miles leave at the roundabout towards Winchester. After approx 1 mile turn left (signposted Langrish). After 2-3 miles you will enter the village. With All Saint s church on your right on the hill turn left into East Meon and we are 100 yards on the right hand side. Free car parking at the rear of the pub. br/ br/ Petersfield/winchester - Bus: The village is on the Winchester to Petersfield bus route served by Stagecoach buses on the number 67 route. The village is also served by Brijan tours but these buses do not run as often.
