Carr Lodge Park - Installation of two new play areas began around five years ago and the park now has fantastic play facilities for toddlers and for older kids.
There's plenty of space to kick a ball, walk your dog, enjoy a picnic or do all three! This is the venue for the annual Horbury Show organised by Horbury and Ossett Phoenix Rotary Club: see www.horburyshow.co.uk which saw record crowds and funds raised for local organisations.
Dominated by a privately owned grade II listed lodge (built for a relative of architect John Carr) in the middle of the park which is currently being converted to a dwelling once planning permission has been granted.

Parish Church of St Peter and St Leonard - Built by the famous 18th century architect and son of Horbury, John Carr in 1794. In 1864 the Reverend Baring-Gould joined the parish and the following year wrote the famous hymn Onward Christian Soldiers so the children of the newly formed Horbury Bridge Mission could process around the town on their way to St Peter's.
