Visiting nearby Towns and Villages in the Fens - 1 Ely – Well worth a visit. Ely Cathedral, "The Ship Of The Fens", (http://www.cathedral.ely.anglican.org/) dominates the city and the surrounding countryside. Walk down the hill from the Market square, and you will come come to some lovely eating and drinking places on the banks of the River Great Ouse, opposite the marina. You may like to take a river trip, or visit the many floors of the Waterside Antique Centre :, “The largest Centre in East Anglia for antiques and collectables”.
2 St.Ives – delightful river town
3 Huntingdon – historic market town, built up around the Great River Ouse. It’s most famous son, Oliver Cromwell, was born in the town in 1599. Samuel Pepys also went to school here.
