The manor, which is just over one mile away from Kendal town centre, once formed part of the jointure of Queen Katherine Parr and was also once the occasional residence of Lady Anne Clifford, Countess of Pembroke and Montgomery, who rebuilt many churches and almshouses in the area. Rooms have Freesat TV/DVD, internet access and generous hospitality trays. After a refreshing night's sleep in a king size bed, a hearty English breakfast made with fresh local produce can be enjoyed in the medieval dining room with oak panelled walls, priest hole, spice cupboard and views over the garden. Evening meals, Sunday lunches and picnics are catered for by arrangement. Kendal is a lively market town with many quality shops, cafes and restaurants.
