It is 7 miles from junction 23 on the M5 so provides very easy access to Bath, Bristol, Wells, Glastonbury, Clark’s Village, Exmoor, Millfield School, Cheddar and the Mendips. An excellent area for National Trust properties, country markets, bird watching, walking and cycling. The famous Starlings are on Shapwick Heath from November to February. Shapwick itself is a small rural community with a 1400c church. Most of the properties in the village are built of the local blue lias stone. There are no pubs or shops in the village, but both available within a mile.
