Two homely Georgian rooms with a warm welcome in the lovely bustling market town of Southwell. Your own key to the rooms with kitchenette including fridge microwave kettle toaster cutlery and crockery. There is a sofa bed table and 2 chairs shower room and toilet double bed large TV wardrobe hairdryer side tables and full central heating with extra heaters should you require an additional boost of heat. The house was built in 1756 and is a Grade II listed building so has some quirky original features in the rooms e.g. beams and old inbuilt welsh dresser. The wooden floors are also good for children and pets. Each of the two rooms has windows and/or door both sides of the room so are flooded with light. br / br / br / br / The Olde Sweet Shoppe is just a stones throw from the historic Southwell Minster and 5 minutes walk from the centre of Southwell with its lovely boutiques coffee shops and market. Southwell is known as the millionaires town of the East Midlands and features many large houses prebends The Old Workhouse a Tourist information centre Southwell Racecourse etc. It is surrounded by by rural countryside walks and visitor attractions. There is a walk just 20 yards away onto the fields behind us. Opposite the accommodation is The Bramley Apple Pub serving lovely breakfasts (prior arrangement with the Landlord) and there are 2 other pubs within 600 yards serving lovely succulent food and Sunday roasts. A newsagents which also serves breakfasts and lunch to take away is 60 yards down the road and a bus stop to Nottingham is only 20 yards away too. There is no parking at the property but lots of parking on the road outside nearby Farthingate or in the car park of the Hearty GoodFellow pub about 50 yards away by prior permission of the Landlord and serves lovely food. br / br / br / br / Pets (well behaved dogs and small pets) are welcome but no cats please. The family live on site in the main house so are always available to help if there is anything you need

Directions to The Olde Sweet Shoppe Guesthouse Southwell

Nottingham - Road: Take the A612 out of Nottingham signposted to Southwell. Follow the road all the way to Southwell where you will arrive at a T junction. Turn right and follow the road to a mini roundabout where you will turn right. Follow this road past Southwell Minster on your right around a left hand bend and in about 200 yards you will see the Bramley Apple Pub sign on the left hand side. The Olde Sweet Shoppe is directly opposite the pub at number 56 Church St on the corner of Palace View. br/ br/ Newark - Road: Take the A617 out of Newark to Kelham. Go through Kelham until you meet a left turn at some traffic lights onto the A612. Turn onto the A612 and follow this road through Upton and into Southwell. You will come to a sharp right hand bend with the Coach House pub on the right. Follow the road to the right onto Church St. In about 200 yards you will pass Farthingate on the left hand side. About 100 yards past Farthingate opposite the Bramley Apple Pub is the Olde Sweet Shoppe at number 56. br/ br/ Fiskerton - Train: From Fiskerton Station go up the hill towards Southwell. After going down the hill the road flattens out before it goes steeply uphill again past Brinkley on your left. Go down the hill passing Southwell Garden Centre on your left. Continue down the hill to the bottom where you come to a T Junction where you turn left onto Church St. You will pass the Hearty GoodFellow pub on your right before coming to the Bramley Apple pub and The Olde Sweet Shoppe is opposite at number 56. br/ br/ Nottingham - Bus: Catch the number 100 bus from outside the Victoria Centre (Boots entrance) in Nottingham. When the bus comes into Southwell it will turn left appearing to go out of Southwell but is in fact doing a large circle around the town. When it comes to Norwood Gardens the driver often stops for the statutory 10 minutes or so. Stay on the bus! The bus will soon continue and as soon as you see the Hearty Good Fellow pub you need to get off at the next stop.
