Belfast Zoo - the main zoo in Northern Ireland. Situated on one of the hills surronding Belfast it also provides stunning views of Belfast Lough. The zoo has all the appropriate animals, has a petting zoo and ground for picnics as well as a cafe. There are a number of special events throughout the year, most of which have to be booked in advance due to their popularity.

Coloured Rain Art Gallery - An excellent art gallery specialising in Irish Art with particular attention being paid to young up and coming artists. The work on offer ranges in price from a couple of hundred pounds upwards. On occasions they have work by major Irish artists such as Jack Yates, William Connor etc.
The owners are very approachable and quite happy to offer advice to amateur collectors or provide background information to those who are buying a painting simply because it has caught their eye.

Pattersons Spade Mill - This is a National Trust property just outside Templepatrick. It is a working spade mill and one can see the whole process of how spades were made in the C19th. It is fascinating to hear about the different types of spade which used to be essential for all types of work, not just farming.
