A delightful 16th century country house hotel in the heart of Wales' beautiful countryside. Converted from a farmhouse over 30 years ago many of the original features remain such as thick stone walls fireplaces wooden beams and tiled floors.Nestling in the Cothi Valley on the edge of the stunning Brechf forest Ty Mawr is less than a 30 minute drive from the end of the M4. Set in a rural but accessible location it is an ideal base to explore all areas of South and West Wales. Ty Mawr has a growing reputation for its good food which relies on local seasonal ingredients to produce a daily-changing menu all freshly cooked to order. Steve the chef and joint owner has excellent relationships with local suppliers so that the majority of the ingredients come from the valley itself.There is an incredible wealth of heritage in the museums and castles of Carmarthenshire and the area has the largest concentration of premier gardens and botanical attractions in the UK. Directions to Ty Mawr Country Hotel Brechfa

From the end of the M4 continue along the A48 dual carriageway towards Carmarthen. After approximately 7 miles take the B4310 slip road which is sign-posted to The National Botanical Gardens and Nantgaredig. Pass the National Botanical Gardens on your right and at the next T-junction turn right and almost immediately left. Follow the road in to Nantgaredig and at the A40 crossroads go straight-over which is signed Brechfa 6 miles. When you reach Brechfa we can be found in the middle of the village on the left hand side.
