The hotel has established a reputation for excellent hospitality and fine cuisine that uses mainly local organic ingredients as well as providing guests with a relaxed atmosphere in which they can fully enjoy exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.The age of the house means that all 9 hotel rooms are all very different in size and layout all enjoying their own character. All rooms have hand sprung mattresses with fine Egyptian linen and are individually furnished. The larger of the hotel rooms have a small but comfortable seating area and the Garden suite has it's own conservatory. With comfort and relaxation in mind a butlers tray is supplied with homemade shortbread and real coffee while the toiletries are made especially for the hotel by the Caurnie Soaperie at the Organic Herb Garden in Kirkintilloch. Most of the rooms have views over the gardens and the Lowther hills to the east while others look over the Kier hills to the West. One room is at the rear of the property and looks over the woodland which covers a ruined Roman Fort. When you reach the T junction leading onto the A76 turn left to Thornhill carry on through the village for 1 mile.
