The Glenesk is an independently owned family run hotel which is situated in the beautiful village of Edzell in the north-east of Scotland. Despite its rural setting it is located just 5 miles off the main A90 approximately half way between Dundee and Aberdeen. The hotel itself has 23 bedrooms a leisure club including a swimming pool sauna Jacuzzi and a small exercise room excellent dining facilities and plenty of off road parking. We also have a large garden with an adventure play area for the kids for the sunny days and a snooker room and lounges with free wi-fi for the rainy ones! The village of Edzell has an excellent 18 hole golf course whose first tee can be viewed from our garden. It also has a super 9 hole course and a flood lit driving range. On the outskirts of the village you will find Historic Scotland's Edzell Castle and Gardens which are well worth a visit for any historian or garden lover and just a short drive to the north you can visit The Fettercairn Distillery. Edzell is at the foot of the Angus Glens which offer excellent possibilities for hill walking or other more adventurous outdoor pursuits. If you prefer though they also provide a brilliant opportunity to take in some breath taking scenery as you drive through them! If you enjoy spotting wildlife in its natural environment then the glens are a rich source but we are also just a 20 minute drive from the Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre which is a must for all bird enthusiasts. Should you wish to take up the superb opportunities for fishing and shooting in this area then we will happily put you in touch with local estates who can organise such events. Directions to The Glenesk Hotel Edzell

Nearset train station Montrose 12miles Airports Aberdeen 50miles and Edinburgh 90 miles. On the A90 main Aberdeen Dundee road look for signs for Edzell after Forfar and Brechin if heading North and after Laurencekirk if heading South. Take one of many available turn-offs to Edzell and follow the signs to the village. Only 3 miles from the nearest A90 exit at Stracathro. Upon reaching Edzell you will find the hotel next to the main archway to the village on the main road. Really you can't miss it.
