Travel from Laxton to the picturesque market towns of Newark on Trent and its famous antique fairs Retford or Southwell famed by its magnificent Minster. Within easy commuter distance too the larger cities of Nottingham or Lincoln. Or stay closer to home and take a visit to Beth Shalom the National Holocaust Centre situated on the outskirts of the village.What ever the reason for your visit here why not combine it with an overnight stay at The Dovecote in our delightful bed and breakfast accommodation. We have two letting rooms at The Dovecote. They have recently been completely refurbished and redecorated and are situated in a pretty barn conversion opposite the pub premises. The rooms retain their original beams and both have low windows looking over the barn's own garden. They offer every modern comfort with a fridge in the room a bowl of fresh fruit to greet you and all the facilities to make your own continental breakfast when you choose.

From A1 South :- Take exit signposted B1164 (Ollerton) at roundabout take forth exit following signs for B1164 Ollerton at next roundabout follow signs for Ollerton keep on road for approx 2 miles into centre of Tuxford. At pedestrian crossing turn first right and immediately right into Newcastle Street (sign posted Egmanton) keep on this road for about 2 12 miles through Egmanton village and on to Laxton. The Dovecote Inn NEWARK is situated on the left hand side of the Junction of Main Street and Moorehouse RoadFrom A1 North:- Take exit signposted Tuxford take second left (just before T junction) onto Newcastle Street (signposted Egmanton) Keep on this road for approx 2 12 miles through Egmanton village to Laxton. The Dovecote in is situated on the left hand side of the juction of Main Street and Moorehouse Road
