Lichen Burn is a newly-built house situated in beautiful Glen Nant on the edge of Taynuilt 12 miles from Oban the Gateway to the Isles' with its ferry links to the Inner Hebrides. The two guest rooms overlook the River Nant and the Caledonian Forest Reserve with french doors opening onto a deck with views of the river and the mountains. The rooms are spacious and contain a superking-size bed or twin beds at your choice two comfortable armchairs TV and radio DVD and teacoffee-making facilities. Each room has a large ensuite bathroom with full-size bath and shower over. You are welcome to explore our one-and-a-half acre garden with its ancient oak trees or sit on the wildflower-strewn river bank. Watch the wildlife: red squirrels feeding on the nut baskets buzzards wheeling overhead herons in the river red deer in the garden or on the other side of the river or catch an occasional glimpse of a pine marten UK's rarest mammal. On a week-end break or a longer stay Lichen Burn makes an ideal base for touring boat trips to see the marine wildlife or the infamous Gulf of Corryvreckan wonderful walks golf at any of the 3 nearby courses (you can borrow our clubs) and many other activities in this part of the West Highlands so please come and go as you wish during your stay.

Directions to Lichen Burn Taynuilt

Lichen Burn Taynuilt is situated on the edge of the village of Taynuilt which is 12 miles east of Oban along the A85. To reach Lichen Burn Taynuilt take the B845 signposted to Kilchrenan. If you are coming from the Glasgow direction this is the first turning on the left just past the village sign of Taynuilt. After half a mile turn right at the sign saying Otter Creek. Follow the road round to the left. Lichen Burn Taynuilt is the house at the end.
