It is rumoured that Hatherley Manor was built for the illegitimate son of Oliver Cromwell. However the history of the site stretches back over a thousand years and has direct links to Edward the Confessor. From M5 North and SouthLeave motorway at junction 11 follow signposts for Cheltenham. At roundabout take first left B4063 signed to Churchdown and Staverton. Carry on this road over two sets of traffic lights there is then a slip road to the right taking you into Down Hatherley Lane. The Hotel is about 1mile on the right hand side.
