The village is steeped in history with the 11th century church just next door once being the seat of religious learning and now the home of frescoes depicting St George and the Dragon. Also situated in the village is national hunt trainer Evan Williams.Cardiff city centre with its Millennium Centre and Stadium theatres restaurants and dock area can be easily reached by car in less than half an hour the beaches of Ogmore Porthcawl and Barry are a short drive away and then there is the market town of Cowbridge with its designer shops fifteen minutes from here. For golf enthusiasts there are numerous courses within the area and Celtic Manor Golf Resort home of this year's Ryder Cup is forty minutes away. Cottrell Park is the nearest course at which visitors to the Fox and Hounds can enjoy discounted green fees. Also the links courses at Royal Porthcawl and Pyle and Kenfig are within easy reach.Home cooking using local produce wherever possible is on offer here with our chefs making our own desserts terrines ice creams fresh fish is delivered daily along with our meat. Directions to Fox and Hounds Llancarfan

M4 heading west exit junction 33 A4232. Follow signs for Barry. At roundabout take 4th exit on to A48 (Cowbridge). Through traffic lights through village of St Nicholas passing Cottrell Park golf club. Take next turning left heading towards Barry A4226. Approx one mile and a half take right turning ( sign indicating Fox and Hounds Llancarfan) through Walterston. Two and a half miles down this road you will come to a ford across the road. Drive through this and turn left the Fox and Hounds Llancarfan is on your left.
