They started to build the Bridge Inn in 1900 and completed it in 1906 in the style of an Old English Coaching Inn.The Bridge Inn is situated in the centre of picturesque Port Sunlight and is one of the 900 grade 11 listed buildings contained with in this unique village. The building was built by William Hesketh Lever for his soap factory workers and named after his famous Sunlight Soap. It was a temperance Hotel until 1903 when the vote was cast and the sale of alcohol was allowed. The building still retains many of its original features and if you wish to see downstairs with the old servants quarters we will be only too happy to oblige!The village itself has many tourist attractions including The Lady Lever Art Gallery Port Sunlight Vision and the Gladstone Theatre.Within easy reach of the cities of Chester (30 mins) or Liverpool (20mins) The Bridge Inn is an ideal base for exploring these famous cities and the north Wales countryside.Trains- Port Sunlight Station Liverpool Lime Street. Airports- Liverpool John Lennon (14 Miles) Manchester Ringway (35 Miles).Please note we do not take large same sex party bookings and reserve the right to refuse accomodation. Also we do not have a resident's bar and under-18s are not allowed into the bar area after 7.30pm.

Exit M56 at junction 15 onto M53 following signs for LiverpoolBirkenhead.Exit M53 at junction 5 following A41 towards BromboroughBirkenhead for approx 3.2 miles.At main roundabout turn left into Port Sunlight. The Bridge inn is located approx 500mtrs on right hand side of Bolton Rd.From Liverpool take Birkenhead Tunnel exiting onto A41 following sings for Chester. At end of dual carriagewayat roundabout turn right into Port Sunlight then as above.
