The Blue Ball Inn is a beautiful traditional 13th century Coaching Inn with inglenook fireplaces and an atmosphere of unspoilt old world charm. This traditional country inn with 16 quality en-suite bedrooms (most of which feature bathtubs) attracts visitors and hikers from all over the world is dog friendly extends a warm welcome to children and has a fine and growing reputation for providing real ale fine wines and excellent food. The Inn uses wherever possible high quality local produce and has recently started to introduce many traditional North Devon meals and desserts to its Specials Board to compliment the seasonal menu's. Being located in Countisbury in an area of outstanding beauty approximately one and a half miles from the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth and close to the famous Doone Valley it is the ideal place from which to explore the outdoors with over 1000km of footpaths and bridleways. Positioned in probably the heart of the hiking capital of England some of the country's most spectacular trails pass the Blue Ball Inn including the South West Coastal Path. The Blue Ball Inn is indeed one of a rare breed privately owned unspoilt and set in an area of outstanding beauty providing an excellent example of what can only be described as a traditional English Inn.

Directions to Blue Ball Inn Lynmouth

From Minehead If you take the scenic route via the A39 coastal road over Exmoor from Minehead and Porlock you will find the Blue Ball Inn Lynmouth at the top of Countisbury Hill 10 miles to the East of Porlock. From the West. Leave the M5 at junction 27 (signposted Barnstaple Tiverton) then at the first roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A361 (signposted Barnstaple Tiverton) 6.7 miles along the A361 at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A361 (signposted Barnstaple) Be careful because there is a Speed Cameras along this stretch of the A361 There is approximately 15.5 miles to the next roundabout where you will take the 2nd exit onto the A361 (signposted Barnstaple) Again watch out for Speed Cameras along the A361 3.4 miles further along the A361 to the next roundabout where you take the 3rd exit onto the A399 (signposted Combe Martin) Continue forward on the A399 for 12miles to Blackmore Gate. At Blackmoor Gate turn right onto the A39 (signposted Lynton) After approximately 6.5 miles at Barbrook turn left onto Barbrook Road - B3234 (signposted Lynton) Entering Barbrook Ignore the left hand forks for Lynton and keep to the B3234 through Lynbridge. Upon entering Lynmouth at the bottom of the steep Lynmouth Hill bear Left onto Countisbury Hill on the A39. Follow the signs for Minehead on the A39 and then ascend Countisbury Hill. The Blue Ball Inn Lynmouth is at the top of Countisbury Hill approximately 1.5 miles from Lynmouth
